Chota Tingrai is a family-owned estate in the Tinsukia district of upper Assam. In fact, it is one of the first tea estates in India that was founded by an Indian family. They were founded by Murleidhor Jalan in 1939 and are still owned and run by the Jalan family today. They operated four tea plantations in Assam and South India.
